Henriette Wilhelmine Skouen: Driving the Vision of Fyllingen Lions

As the Marketing and Communications Lead for the Fyllingen Lions, Henriette Wilhelmine Skouen combines creativity and strategy to elevate the club’s profile, while championing the values of community and inclusiveness. Personally recruited by Founder of Meteva Sport og Helse, Louise Mohn, Henriette joined the team this summer after recognizing the potential of the club during her husband’s time as a player. When the opportunity arose, she knew she could make a meaningful impact. With a strong background in marketing, design, and performing arts, she has been instrumental in leading the club’s rebranding, sponsorship initiatives, social media presence, and its overall vision.

A Creative Journey

Henriette earned a bachelor’s degree in International Marketing from BI Norwegian Business School, spending her final year at the Lubin School of Business in New York. Her time in the U.S. included internships at a modeling agency and VS Magazine, where she honed her skills in marketing, PR, and design. Henriette further advanced her career by earning a master’s degree in Strategic Design and Management from Parsons, The New School, cementing her place as a creative strategist in the industry.

Transforming Fyllingen Lions

Her primary goals since joining the club has included showcasing the team’s extensive community work, elevating basketball in Norway, and creating unforgettable events that bring fans closer to the game. “The players are exceptional athletes and even better people,” she says. “My job is to make sure the world sees them as the inspiring role models they are.”

Through a strategy of authenticity and storytelling, Henriette has highlighted the personalities of the Lions’ players and their dedication to community service. Her favorite moments include working with children, such as capturing the joy of young players being cheered on by the Lions during visits to local youth teams.

Looking Ahead

Henriette’s vision for the Lions is expansive: she hopes the club will inspire the growth of basketball in Norway and serve as a national ambassador for the sport’s values of diversity and inclusiveness. With dreams of adding a professional Lioness team and more opportunities for youth involvement, her dedication to building a strong basketball community shines brightly.
