Fyllingen Lions Secure Two Wins This Weekend
The Fyllingen Lions delivered an impressive performance this weekend despite battling illness and multiple absences. The team traveled straight from Trondheim, where they claimed a victory over Nidaros Jets on Saturday before facing Ammerud at Apalløkka on Sunday.
Saturday’s game saw the Lions without key players Bouna Black Ndiaye, Lars Espe, and Dashawn Davis due to illness. In addition, team captain, Eric Fongué fell ill during the game and was unable to play on Sunday. To reinforce the squad, veteran Peter Bullock was flown in from Bergen for the matchup against Ammerud.
With only seven players available, the Lions managed to pull off a nail-biting victory in the final seconds. Fyllingen took an early lead in the first quarter, but Ammerud fought back in the fourth, tying the game at 73-73. With just 3.7 seconds left on the clock, the Lions called a timeout—and that was all they needed. Nikolas Skouen stepped up and shot a two-pointer to secure a dramatic 75-73 win for Fyllingen.
Standout Performances:
🏀 Nikolas Skouen – Top scorer with 21 points and 5 assists
🏀 Pol Olivier – 14 points and 5 rebounds
🏀 Karamo Jawara – 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists
