With his wealth of experience and sportsmanship, Bouna's decision to return home to Bergen, Norway, this season is a heartfelt one.

After dealing with an injury over a year ago, Bouna has focused on honing his skills and reaching peak physical form, thanks to top-tier therapeutic treatments. This dedication has not only elevated his performance on the court but also motivated him off the court.

Bouna has made a conscious choice to lend his talents to Fyllingen Lions in their quest to compete in the ENBL league. His presence is set to inspire both the team and the broader Bergen community.

In addition to his on-court contributions, Bouna has been working closely with Meteva Sport og Helse, an organization founded by Louise Mohn. Since January 2023, Bouna has worked alongside Mohn, gaining first-hand experience of what it takes to work internationally and across various industries. Meteva Sport og Helse is committed to empowering lives through philanthropic work, both locally, nationally, and internationally. The organization focuses on uniting communities and building a strong foundation for the younger generation through mentorship programs, as well as fostering partnerships across cultures within the local society, with the intention to make positive change.

Through this opportunity, Bouna has used his skill set to connect people, ensuring that different fields of expertise cooperate simultaneously and effectively. He has thrived in organizing multi-functional teams, collaborating to build community especially for children in Bergen, Norway.

Bouna has a deep understanding of the emotional and psychological health of children and young people. With roots tracing back to Africa and the Faroe Islands, Bouna has learned the importance of community building and establishing long-lasting relationships. He has used this knowledge to not only be a role model, but to develop a mentorship method that boosts children’s confidence and empowers them to achieve their goals. His strong awareness of making young people feel acknowledged, seen, and heard to provide positive social value, aligns with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.

Bouna’s commitment to inspiring youth and strengthening the local community resonates deeply with his values. By mentoring the younger generation, along with working internationally and cross-culturally, he hopes to make a lasting impact beyond the basketball court.

Although Bouna’s commitment to Fyllingen Lions is just for this season, he remains dedicated to his team and keeping his fans informed as he prepares for the next exciting chapter of his career.
